We have a weekend full of festivities planned for all three of our Swanky’s Taco Shop locations.

First up, we have our East Memphis Swanky’s, located at Poplar & Colonial. We’ll be kicking the Cinco de Mayo festivities off on Saturday, May 4th, with the premiere  Chalupacabra taco eating contest at 1:00 pm. Come early, grab a seat on the patio—or under the Cinco tent—and watch fellow guests attempt to finish off a 3.5 lb. taco, served up special for this event only. We’ll be giving out a $100 Swanky’s Gift Card to the first place winner.

Playing Dead

It’s time. Day of the Dead time.

We’ve got parties going on at all three locations, so there’s a place for everyone to come together and help us celebrate the Mexican Holiday.

First up is tonight’s party at our Franklin/CoolSprings restaurant.

That’s right. Tonight in Franklin, celebrate with us, Team Green Adventures and Lightning 100 as we honor the dead. We’ll have a Corn-Hole Tournament starting at 8:00 pm. Also, $3.50 Dos Equis drafts from Thursday thru Sunday. Live in the Nashville area? There’s no excuse to NOT celebrate Day of the Dead with us!

Next up is our Germantown location’s party tomorrow night (Poplar/Kirby), Friday, October 26th.

It’s going to be a pretty spicy night, with giveaways and LIVE Memphis music from Chris Allen and The Metrognomes from 8 pm to 1 am. For more information, visit the Event’s Facebook page. Germantown, come Eat, Drink & Play Dead with us!

Last, but definitely not least, we have tomorrow’s East Memphis event at our Poplar/Colonial location, also Friday, October 26th.

Join us as WALRUS and The Dirty Horns play Dead. LIVE Memphis Music starts at 9:00 pm tomorrow night. And feel free to come to the party in costume…there WILL be prizes for the best costumes! For more information, you can visit the Event’s Facebook page.

All in all, it’s going to be a great weekend spent commemorating a celebration whose origin can be traced back to Mexico’s indigenous pagan cultures. Whether you’re in Franklin or the Memphis area, there’s no excuse to miss out on our Day of the Dead Parties. Be sure to take pictures and Tweet them to us, or post them to our Facebook page. We want to see you having fun!

So, the only question we’ll leave you with is…which party will you be attending?
