…like a pro.

Swanky’s Taco Shop in East Memphis (Poplar/Colonial) is having their 2nd annual Crawfish Boil on Saturday, April 19th, 2014.

  • ALL YOU CAN EAT for $25
  • OR purchase a single plate for $15
  • All plates include potatoes and corn
  • Crawfish starts flowing at 11 am…until it runs out
  • Saturday only…NEW cocktails for $4: Backwoods Punch & White Sangria

Even with all the crawfish festivals and events going on around the Memphis area these days, it’s surprising how many people have no idea of the proper way to eat Crawfish. So you don’t feel silly this Saturday, we put together an infographic to make sure you’re prepared. Check it out & feel free to share (click to zoom):

03_2014-Swanky's-Taco-Shop-Choose901-Birthday-Event-Graphic

Choose901 is turning two this month. To celebrate, we’re holding a birthday party this Wednesday, March 26th, at our East Memphis location (Poplar/Colonial).

Choose901 is not an organization, it’s a movement. A movement of people that live out their passion for Memphis year round. We are excited to mark a day each year to gather and celebrate that passion.
- John Carroll, Choose901, Executive Director

We’ll have some specials on hand to celebrate the occasion:

  • Choose901 stickers to all guests.
  • BBQ tacos are coming back…for ONE day only! They’ll be marked down to $9.01 for the day, as a tribute to Choose901 and will be served with a side of mixed vegetables and mexican street corn.

Having been locally owned and operated since 2005, Swanky’s Taco Shop seemed an ideal partner for this event.

We were so excited when Choose901 reached out to us about hosting their 2nd birthday. Swanky’s is proud to have started right here in Memphis and jumped at the opportunity to partner with someone who encourages others to invest in all the great things our city has to offer.
- Lindsey Archer, Swanky’s Taco Shop, Director of Marketing

Two years in, Choose901 is just getting started. Stop by Swanky’s this Wednesday to tell us why YOU Choose901. Let us know you’re coming on Facebook here.

Playing Dead

It’s time. Day of the Dead time.

We’ve got parties going on at all three locations, so there’s a place for everyone to come together and help us celebrate the Mexican Holiday.

First up is tonight’s party at our Franklin/CoolSprings restaurant.

That’s right. Tonight in Franklin, celebrate with us, Team Green Adventures and Lightning 100 as we honor the dead. We’ll have a Corn-Hole Tournament starting at 8:00 pm. Also, $3.50 Dos Equis drafts from Thursday thru Sunday. Live in the Nashville area? There’s no excuse to NOT celebrate Day of the Dead with us!

Next up is our Germantown location’s party tomorrow night (Poplar/Kirby), Friday, October 26th.

It’s going to be a pretty spicy night, with giveaways and LIVE Memphis music from Chris Allen and The Metrognomes from 8 pm to 1 am. For more information, visit the Event’s Facebook page. Germantown, come Eat, Drink & Play Dead with us!

Last, but definitely not least, we have tomorrow’s East Memphis event at our Poplar/Colonial location, also Friday, October 26th.

Join us as WALRUS and The Dirty Horns play Dead. LIVE Memphis Music starts at 9:00 pm tomorrow night. And feel free to come to the party in costume…there WILL be prizes for the best costumes! For more information, you can visit the Event’s Facebook page.

All in all, it’s going to be a great weekend spent commemorating a celebration whose origin can be traced back to Mexico’s indigenous pagan cultures. Whether you’re in Franklin or the Memphis area, there’s no excuse to miss out on our Day of the Dead Parties. Be sure to take pictures and Tweet them to us, or post them to our Facebook page. We want to see you having fun!

So, the only question we’ll leave you with is…which party will you be attending?
